Promoting The Versatility Of The American Saddlebred

Another American Saddlebred makes FEI !

9 year old American Saddlebred, Forty Something, owned by Jody Swimmer, and ridden by Chrissa Hoffmann, competed in his first Prix St Georges test at the Fall Meadow Lake Dressage Classic, Oct 20-21,2009. Chrissa and Forty Something, received an impressive, 60.4% and a 62.6% putting them in 2nd place both days. This is a HUGE accomplishement considering he was competing Third level, just this past Spring with his owner, and skipped all of 4th level! Chrissa is proving, that with correct training,  saddlebreds can make it the FEI levels of dressage. Forty Something is now her second saddlebred that she has taken to the FEI. The legendary Harry Callahan made it to the Grand Prix with honors, scoring up to 65.5%.  Forty is well on his way in following his former
stall mate's success!

American Saddlebreds at the 2007 USDF Convention

Once again, the American Saddlebred Horse Association kindly sponsored the American Saddlebred booth at the Trade Fair of the 2007 United States Dressage Federation Convention held at the Disney Resort Coronado Springs in Orlando, Florida, November 29- December 1, 2007.  Volunteers Linda Cawthon and Lisa Pfettcher setup and ran the booth for 3 days. Convention attendees were able to see video's of American Saddlebreds in Dressage, pick up promotional materials and The American Saddlebred Magazine, and register for our free raffle of an Ariat Tote bag filled with grooming supplies. Lisa and Linda talked with hundreds of Convention goers about Saddlebreds and Dressage. Linda Cawthon says of her experience, " We received a very positive response from people at the Convention. This is the fourth year the ASHA has sponsored the American Saddlebred booth at the USDF Convention and I think our presence here has really changed peoples minds about ASB's in non-traditional disciplines like Dressage".
